Do we need to save web pages? No
Yes, we are currently already capturing the University website through Archive-It, which we have been doing since 2012. You can see our set of materials captured here:
https://archive-it.org/organizations/564 . This includes both the University website listed at the very bottom (see:
https://archive-it.org/collections/3082), but our list also includes other sites that we specifically capture (ie. UO Athletics (GoDucks.com), Class projects, etc.). Again, I can go over more of these sites and projects, and how we do the capture through the Archive-It system. But yes, we do archive the site through this system. In addition, some of the sites are also captured through the Internet Archive too, so we use that as a backup in a sense.
Back-end systems to manage video data must be configured to retain the data, delete it after the retention period expires, prevent deletion by individual officers, and provide an unimpeachable audit trail to protect chain of custody, just as with any evidence.
